AlixPartners wins at HealthInvestor Awards

AlixPartners are proud to have won the ‘Consultants of the Year – Transactional’ category at the HealthInvestor Awards 2024.

AlixPartners is a results-driven management consulting firm which specialises in those “when it really matters” situations. At pivotal moments, clients call us for clarity, direction, and above all else, implementation. We deploy small senior teams and apply a hands-on approach, to make a real impact.

Our team has deep experience in the health and social care sectors and are known for working shoulder to shoulder with clients, adapting to the client culture and focusing on advising and implementing, rather than advising and consulting. Putting these qualities into action for every client means we have a track record of successfully delivering positive outcomes for stakeholders in some of the most complex and challenged businesses in the health and social care sector.

We have extensive senior-led experience across the health and social care with several senior team members having taken interim leadership roles in health and social care providers, as well as leading multiple strategic reviews, transactions, post-merger integration, restructurings, transformation programmes and turnaround assignments across healthcare providers, healthcare services, medtech and Life Sciences market segments.

Compared to most consultancies, a key differentiator is our experience as part of the management team and not just acting as advisors. Often taking a position on the client board of directors or executive leadership team (which few consultancy firms do) so as to not just give advice but to take action, execute decisions, implement change and deliver memorable results.

One example project is Four Seasons Health Care, where Joe O’Connor, Partner and Managing Director at AlixPartners in the UK, was appointed interim CEO and to the Board of Directors. Joe brought with him a team from AlixPartners who could leverage their extensive situational experience to help stabilise the business, then create a platform for significant and sustained performance improvement. The team has also executed a sales process to focus the Group on a core group of high-performing care homes and realise value for stakeholders from non-core care homes. This has resulted in a sustainable, high-performing group, with the highest care quality outcomes in over a decade and strong operational and financial results, which benchmark ahead of the wider UK social care market.

The award judges commented:

‘…AlixPartners’ submission was very powerful and demonstrated strong strategic credentials. [Their] focus on implementation and not just providing advice is clear in the results. The submission contained numerous impressive case studies and the KPI impact they had. Outstanding”
